Sharon’s Story

SARAACC was born from lived experience. After Sharon suffered a life-altering aneurysm, her husband James stepped into the role of full-time caregiver. Through years of navigating rehabilitation, frustration, and limited resources, one truth became clear: caregivers need support just as much as patients.

Sharon Acute Rehab and Alternative Caregiver Corporation (SARAACC) is a nonprofit organization committed to transforming the lives of individuals living with traumatic brain injuries and supporting the caregivers who stand by them. Founded on a mission to advance care for brain-injured individuals, we have established ourselves as a trusted leader in combining conventional and alternative care methods to restore individuals to their highest functional ability.

Meet the Founder – James Edward Savoy

James Edward Savoy, founder and CEO of SARAACC, has lived the journey he now helps others navigate. He has led this nonprofit 501(c)(3) since its approval in 2012 (established in 2006) with a deep, personal commitment to the cause. Under his leadership, SARAACC has grown into a dedicated force for advancing comprehensive and innovative care. James’s vision is simple yet profound: to ensure no caregiver has to walk this path alone and every patient has the tools to find their way back to a full life.

SARAACC Mission Statement

Our work is built upon four foundational pillars that guide every program and service we offer:

  • Technology-Driven Care: We leverage cutting-edge therapies and innovative tools to enhance recovery and improve quality of life.
  • Rehabilitation: Our evidence-based rehabilitation programs focus on restoring functional independence and promoting overall well-being.
  • Caregiver Education: Through training programs, certification courses, seminars, and webinars, we empower caregivers with the knowledge and skills needed to provide exceptional care.
  • Restoration of Independence: Every program we offer is designed to support patients and caregivers in regaining autonomy and confidence in daily life.

Our Vision for the Future

We see a future where recovery happens in environments that model real life. We envision short-term restorative care centers designed to facilitate a seamless transition from clinical care to daily living. Each facility is thoughtfully designed with resort-style recovery in mind, featuring:

  • Comfortable Living Quarters: Tailored spaces that feel like home rather than a hospital.
  • State-of-the-Art Therapy Rooms: Advanced environments for physical and cognitive rehabilitation.
  • Lecture Halls & Seminar Spaces: Dedicated hubs for caregiver education, community programs and live entertainment, and shared learning.
